Go Direct® Energy Sensor
Description Simpler to use than a multimeter, the Go Direct Energy Sensor measures the voltage and current oputput of a renewable energy system. Connect a source, such as a small wind turbine or solar panel, and our free Graphical Analysis 4 app displays voltage, current, power, and energy output. For simple energy measurements, Go Direct Energy includes a fixed load of 30 Ω. For more advanced experiments, electrical contacts are built into the sensor to connect to an external load, such as the Variable Load, a resistor on Vernier Resistor Board, a water pump, or lights. The Go Direct Energy Sensor is ideal for a wide variety of renewable energy experiments:  Investigate the electrical energy generated by a wind turbine or solar panel. Explore the effect of load on wind turbine or solar panel output. Test blade design variables and evaluate data to determine optimal blade design. Rechargeable Battery—Ready When You Are The robust rechargeable battery offers long battery life and provides always-ready operation when using the sensor wirelessly. Monitor battery life directly from our free Graphical Analysis™ 4 app or LabQuest 2 App. Should the battery run low, simply connect the sensor to the charging cable and keep on collecting—no interruptions or inconvenience to you or your students. Wired or Wireless—The Flexibility to Choose Our Go Direct sensors connect directly to your mobile device, Chromebook™, or computer using our free Graphical Analysis™ 4 app—no additional equipment or software purchases are necessary. Go Direct sensors can be used wired via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth® wireless technology, allowing you to choose the solution best for your classroom or laboratory.

Vernier Energy Sensor
The Vernier Energy Sensor offers an easy way to quantify voltage, current, power, and energy output of small wind turbines and solar panels such as those used in our KidWind Experiment Kits. Setting up a circuit to study renewable energy systems such as wind turbines or solar panels is easy with the Vernier Energy Sensor. Simply connect a source such as a small wind turbine or solar panel to one side and a load such as the Variable Load (VES-VL) or a resistor on Vernier Resistor Board (VES-RB) to the other side. The Energy Sensor measures the current and voltage of the system. Data-collection and analysis software, such as Logger Pro or LabQuest App can then calculate the power and energy output. Source Input Potential Range:± 30 V Source Input Current Range:± 1000 mA User manual

Renewable Energy with Vernier - Print and E-Book
The Renewable Energy with Vernier lab book features 26 experiments in wind and solar energy. The lab book contains a combination of explorations, traditional experiments, inquiry investigations, engineering projects, and more. In this book, students learn about renewable energy, experiment with variables affecting power output from model wind turbines and solar panels, and participate in engineering projects such as building a wind farm or a solar charger to meet certain design criteria. Aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards, NGSS, all of the experiments are designed to support students in three-dimensional learning with Disciplinary Core Ideas, Science and Engineering Practices, and Crosscutting Concepts identified for each experiment within the Instructor pages. Many of the experiments use the Vernier Energy Sensor and the Vernier Variable Load, two products that were designed to measure the power and energy output of renewable energy sources. The experiments also use the KidWind Advanced Wind Experiment Kits (KW-AWX) and Solar Thermal Exploration Kit (KW-STXK) .

leXsolar-Wind Large 2.0
