The Motion Detector is used to measure position, velocity, and acceleration of moving objects. It uses ultrasound to measure the position of carts, balls, people, and other objects.
Measure objects as close as 15 cm and as far away as 6 m.
Sensitivity switch reduces noise and produces higher quality data for studying dynamics carts on tracks.
Attaches easily to the Vernier Dynamics System.
Pivoting head allows for flexibility in the experiment setup.
For use with Vernier digital sensors.
Most of Vernier sensors have cables that are 1.5 m long. There are times, however, that you may wish to have a longer cable. The Digital Sensor Extension Cable can be used with any Vernier sensor that connects to a digital channel of one of our interfaces. The port will be labeled DIG1 or DIG2. Each cable is 2 meters in length.
This cable connects Vernier digital sensors to the digital (DIG) port on a Vernier interface.

The Dynamics Cart and Track System provides students with the tools they need to explore kinematics, dynamics, momentum, and energy. This versatile system can also be easily adapted to study optics, color, and diffraction.
The Dynamics and Track System is ideal for studying Newton's second law, acceleration on an inclined plane, conservation of momentum, and much more. This traditional cart and track system features an aluminum track, two low-friction, plastic carts, an ultra pulley, and all of the necessary attachment accessories. Easily attach sensors (sold separately) to carts or to the track for data collection, like a Motion Detector, Dual-Range Force Sensor, Wireless Dynamics Sensor System, Photogate, or an Accelerometer. Add the Vernier Optics Expansion Kit (OEK) and use the track as an optics bench.
The Dynamics Cart and Track Sytem includes:
Combination 1.2 m Track/Optics Bench
Standard Cart with magnetic and hook-and-pile end caps
Plunger Cart with magnetic and hook-and-pile end caps
4 hexagonal masses, 125 g each
Mounting hardware for Dual-Range Force Sensor and accelerometers
Adjustable End Stop
2 Adjustable Two-Foot Levelers
Motion Detector Bracket
Motion Detector Reflector Flag
Rod Clamp
2 Photogate Brackets
Ultra Pulley
Pulley Bracket
User manual
The long-track version includes the same carts and accessories as the Dynamics Cart and Track System but substitutes a 2.2m Track for the 1.2m Track.
Shipping costs standard version:
The standard version 1.2m is sent as PostPac Economy bulky goods. The total shipping costs are CHF 31.00.
Shipping costs long version:
The long track version 2.2m is shipped by freight forwarding. The costs for shipping amount to a total of CHF 74.00.
This book contains over 30 guided-inquiry-based investigations for physics students to explore and analyze key physics concepts included in NGSS.
Description
Physics Explorations and Projects is a collection of laboratory investigations aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Most included investigations set up a situation for students to explore and analyze with some guidance from the instructor—a guided-inquiry format that is very different from traditional laboratory experiments that provide step-by-step instructions. The activities are editable and appropriate for high school students from 9th grade to AP Physics. Sample results are included with the extensive instructor information.
Due to the nature of these activities, minimal instruction is provided for software use and data analysis. Instructor experience with Vernier sensors and software is recommended.
The Motion Detector Clamp screws into the back of the Motion Detector, and then can be clamped to a variety of objects such as table tops, ring stands, etc.
The Fan Cart is a large fan on a light-weight cart. It offers students the ability to perform kinematics and dynamics experiments with constant acceleration, variable mass, variable thrust, and variable thrust angle.
The fan has three speeds for studying the effect of variable thrust. Two mass bars let you change the total mass of the cart to observe how mass affects acceleration. The fan turns on a protractor base, allowing the thrust to be directed at a known angle from the direction of travel. In this way students can ivestigate vector component applications.
A sail is included to perform the fan-on-a-sailboat experiment. The sail can be mounted in two positions to study the subtle effects of diverted airflow.
Although the cart can be used for qualitative experiments alone, most often it is used with a Motion Detector (MD-BTD) on a Dynamics Track (DTS).

The Fan Cart requires four AA batteries (not included).
Description
Monitor angular motion easily and precisely with the Go Direct Rotary Motion Sensor, which connects wirelessly via Bluetooth® or wired via USB to your device. The wireless connection eliminates the cables that can get caught and tangled during rotational investigations.
Determine position, velocity, and acceleration of objects in angular motion.
Measure angle increments as small as 0.25°.
Investigate rotational dynamics, conservation of angular momentum, pendulum motion, polarization of light, and more.
Rechargeable Battery—Ready When You Are
The robust rechargeable battery offers long battery life and provides always-ready operation when using the sensor wirelessly. Monitor battery life directly from our free Graphical Analysis™ 4 app or LabQuest 2 App. Should the battery run low, simply connect the sensor to the charging cable and keep on collecting—no interruptions or inconvenience to you or your students.
Wired or Wireless—The Flexibility to Choose
