Add an Ultra Pulley to your Photogate to monitor motion as a string passes over the pulley, or as the pulley rolls along a table. You can also connect the ultra pulley to our track with the Pulley Bracket.
This Class 2 (<1 mW) laser pointer can be used with a Vernier Photogate or Go Direct® Photogate to produce a gate that is wider than the normal 7.5 cm spacing, making it possible to measure the speed of an automobile or of a person running. The laser case is made of aluminum, and it uses two AAA batteries (included). The wavelength of the light is 650 nm. A momentary switch (normally off) controls the laser beam.

This light-weight tripod is a perfect support for the Laser Pointer or any other laser pointer, which has a 7/16-inch (1.1 cm) outside diameter. A pair of clips attached to the pivoting bracket securely holds the laser in place. This assembly allows you to accurately point the laser at a photogate.

Most of our sensors have cables that are 1.5 m long. There are times, however, that you may wish to have a longer cable. The Digital Sensor Extension Cable can be used with any Vernier sensor that connects to a digital channel of one of our interfaces. The port will be labeled DIG1 or DIG2. Each cable is 2 meters in length.

Our timing toys are great to use with photogates or Smart Pulleys. Our Bar Tape is a flexible strip 3 meters long and 1.6 cm wide with opaque bars spaced every 1.525 cm. This strip can be attached to a dynamics cart and pulled through a photogate, taking the place of a "ticker tape" in many mechanics labs.
